Shooting Sports

In the mid 1970’s, there was a hidden gem on the ridgeline off the old Forbes Trail between historic Ligonier and Youngstown Pennsylvania called “Sugarbush”. It was here, that the Press Dowler family set down roots, built a lodge from lumber they cut themselves, added a kitchen, a ski slope and two combination trap and skeet fields.

Their family reached out to sportsmen and women in the area and offered a family friendly environment to enjoy numerous outdoor activities including the shotgun sports. People traveled from the neighboring ridgelines as well as from distant Pittsburgh and places all around to break clays, bread and scoring records on one of the trap or skeet fields.

Names like Etchen, Stout, Mellon, Lambert, McKenna and many more came to enjoy what the Dowler family and their passel of neighborhood kids would cook up for lunch or dinner most days of the week. And there was plenty of shooting time during daylight and after hours under lights.

It is here that the Robinson family first learned about the sport of clay target shooting and more than 40 years later we are still imbibing in this most endearing activity. The third generation has now joined in the fray and together we are globetrotting across the countryside enjoying a sport that has certainly blossomed in the past 2 decades.

To complement our outdoor powersports business, we have begun to look at areas in the sports shooting circles. Recently, we became even more entwined in the world of clay target shooting. Currently we are the White Flyer target distributor for the southwest as well as a stocking dealer for MEC target throwing machines. To complement these lines further we have also been representing the line of EZ Pull radio controllers.

Recently, we have begun the design of an all-new facility to be located in Casa Grande Arizona. We envision an exciting destination center for outdoor enthusiasts who enjoy riding the trails, dunes and back roads of our great state. And, we plan to offer the outdoors community including the casual and competition shooter a place to check out the latest in wares for their individual sports.
